Virginia Supportive Housing is the Commonwealth’s leading supportive housing agency. We develop and manage affordable housing and provide supportive services to help homeless individuals reclaim their lives. As a non-profit organization, we are focused on keeping our overhead low so that we can direct funds to serve our clients.
As our geographic footprint expanded over the years, our communications costs rose, too. In 2010 we began working with Executive Systems, Inc. to lower these costs. Executive Systems implemented a single, unified communications service across our 15 apartment communities, our Richmond headquarters and our Hampton Roads regional office. The shared or pooled communications services have reduced operating costs significantly and streamlined communications across the regions, resulting in more effective and timely service for our clients.
Based on the great service and cost savings, we now rely on Executive Systems for intercom systems, door entry systems, and security camera systems. We find the staff is very responsive to our needs, is easy to access, and stands behind all of Executive Systems’ products and services.
At Med-Air Home Care we have locations in Richmond, Tappahannock and Fredericksburg. Historically we had independent phone systems and dedicated phone lines from different vendors at each location. These were expensive to maintain and operationally inefficient.
Executive Systems, Inc. was engaged to deliver a consolidated phone system and phone services for all of our locations. They took the lead on managing all aspects of the consolidation including; terminating old phone service contracts, porting phone numbers, designing integrated call flows and deploying our company wide communications services.
Our communications costs have been significantly reduced and our statewide teams are working more efficiently. In addition we have one company to go to for all support services. Executive Systems, Inc. is much more responsive and easier to work with than the traditional ‘big box’ phone companies.
Switching to VoIP internet phone service initially appealed to me because it freed me from dependency on Verizon and their abysmal customer service. Executive Systems became a communication partner in the deal and handles many communications questions and issues without my time investment.
The fact that we also received new equipment and added high speed internet but stayed within the cost parameters of our old landline plans was a huge deciding factor. Looking past 5 years, the cost of internet phones will cost us 30-40% less per month than we used to pay just for landline coverage.
Internet VoIP brings in technology that allows us to do things we could not consider with landlines across our 10 locations. The ability to assign calls to a cell phone when something goes wrong has been a life saver when storms or equipment issues have knocked out traditional communications. I have been very pleased overall with the experience with Executive Systems and Star2Star.
